Schedule of Chi and Blood run through Chinese medicine meridian and organ

On previous post, I mentioned about it is better to sleep before 23:00 at night for having good liver. Because according to Chinese medicine, chi and blood have a schedule to run through the Chinese medicine meridian (channel) and organ in 24 hours. Here is the timetable:

17:00 – 19:00	酉時	Kidney meridian
19:00 – 21:00	戌時	Pericardium meridian
21:00 – 23:00	亥時	Triple warmer

When you feel unwell in a specific hour, it means you have some problem or wrong with the organ as well as the meridian.

I once had problem with my large intestine and did wake up during the time of 05:00 - 07:00 every morning for some period of time. Chi and blood supposes to run through large intestine. Because there was something wrong in it, chi and blood could not go through and it affected my stomach (Why? Could explain in another post later) so my body felt unwell and woke me up. As I always say human body is so intelligent. We need to take more attention to our body which always has response to us. Mind our body and prevent illness before it happens. This is Chinese medicine theory “Treating preventable diseases”.

I mentioned about it is best to sleep by 11 o’clock at night for liver to recover in my older post (ref.). You could understand it now. As you could see in the chart above, chi and blood run through gall bladder and liver meridian from 23:00 to 03:00. In Chinese medicine theory, there are always pair of organs which work like brothers or sisters. When one organ has problem, it would affect its own brother / sister (organ). Gall bladder and liver are like brothers. Gall bladder and liver work closely with each other. So it is why sleeping by 11 o’clock at night helps recovering liver.

Liver is the biggest internal organ in our body. It is responsible for storing blood. It works like a factory which does lots of chemical reaction from everything we eat in including medicine. Because there is no nerve in liver, we do not feel pain when it has any problem with it. It is always too late when we find out something wrong with our liver. So take care of your liver!
